Chairman’s Message
It gives me immense pleasure to present before you yet another issue of the School Magazine “Almanac”.
SANKALP / OXFORD ENGLISH SCHOOL was started in the year 2010. It was especially to cater to the educational needs of Middle and Lower Middle class children of the industrial workers, at a minimum cost. An institution started with merely 246 students, now has grown into a full –fledged Secondary School with a whooping number of 1500 Students on its roll with a staff strength of almost 75.
Today we are proud to see that ours is one of the premier educational institutions we look in this part of the metropolis. We have a team of dedicated and selfless staff always on the foot ever ready to help the kids in whatever way they could. Our institution has been at the forefront for various Scholastic and Non-scholastic activities.
Now we are directing our efforts to achieve a high standard of learning through effective teaching and to meet the educational needs of all learners.
Education is not only preparation of life, it is synonymous with life.
Rabindranath Tagore once said, “Education is that which makes one’s life in harmony with all existence.”
The soul of an institution is the sacred flame of the pursuit of knowledge and character building. An educational institution is a place where education is the means whereby students not only equip themselves with knowledge to cope with the tasks that are in store for them but also to develop other aspects of personality to sustain themselves in vicissitudes o f life.
Mutual respect is one of the values that an individual inherits in life and is very crucial in building up a relationship.
Dedication , Sincerity, determination, a sense of duty, a self esteem are that all distinguish a great leader from the common man.
Today our young generation find themselves enveloped with lot of problems. The world in which they dwell is shackled by materialism, battered by the wrath of nature and with moral standards that are on the Verge of deterioration changes are natural phenomena in every sphere of life. In the field of education too a lot of changes are being brought in. Life is full of stress for children today and hence youngsters have a very different approach to happenings around them.
We look forward to mould our students in such a way that they not only excel in academics but also in other spheres and make them good individuals who would be capable of meeting the competitive pressures of the fast paced modern world.

Director’s Message
As I unravel the success story of SANKALP / OXFORD ENGLISH SCHOOL, having completed 8 years of its fruitful existence , the sheer magnitude of the years that have rolled by makes it mandatory on our part to access the many sided development that have gone into wrap and woof our school.
We are now giving more stress at inculcating and imbibing the quality of self-realization by providing enough opportunities to our students to find out their own talents.
Our school was able to maintain a dignified position as one of the elite schools in this part of metropolis. We provide all the facilities to our children for their all round development
We have a band of dedicated staff ever willing to guide the students and help them in their studies and personal problems too with efficiency.
The world lives by creative and constructive forces formed by knowledge, when we look forward, it has made all of us aware of the illustrious past, bright present and a luminous tomorrow of our institution.
The teaching now is more technology integrated. An Ideal teacher must be tolerant, she should be a good listener and be perseverant.
Education is the invitation into the life of spirit and a training of human soul.
Even if a student gains knowledge about a particular topic from an outside source, still the child shows interest in the same topic if it is presented in an innovative way by a teacher.
In the changing phase of modern education there have been a world of difference between today’s teachers and those who taught a generation back. While we sharpen their intellect, we encourage our students to excel in other skills too.
The challenge before us is to rejuvenate our society by inculcating ethical , social and spiritual values.
Achievements are due to the team work of all concerned and we could achieve all these due to the unflagging continuous support of our well wishers, parents and the dedication and commitment of our staff to this noble profession. Let me conclude this with the words of Wilfrid Gibson.
“But presently by new dreams stirred, we tear
Our towers of Babel down, and scrap the bright
Wings that in urgent flight
Will carry us to the height of heaven”.

Co-ordinator’s Message
The age-old Chinese Proverb ‘plant a Sapling, singing bird will come on its own” is totally true in the great visionary step taken by the “SANKALP FAMILY”.
It is in “learning that true meaning of life lies. And who gives us this learning -
obviously our teachers”. It is now an accepted fact that with the changing times, the teacher- student relationship has taken over a new dimension.
We Provide a Suitable atmosphere for the development of both scholastic and non –scholastic skills of our students.
In today’s Society, there is big generation gap between Parents and Children as parents fail to understand what their wards want as the thinking processes are totally different.
One cannot limit ones Knowledge; one has to go beyond oneself in keeping updated with regards to his subject.
Education is the creation of a sound mind in a sound body. It is the development of good moral Character. Learning is fruitful when knowledge is applied in real-life situation. The main Objective of education is to Prepare an individual for a better future and also turn him in to an asset for our Society.
As our institution progresses, we have decided to add more infrastructures to the School for the benefits of our Students. We could set up a most modern well equipped Science laboratory, Computer lab, library Room, A.V Room etc.
We fully endorse the views aired by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan that “Knowledge is not something to be packed away in Some Corner of our brains, but colours our emotions, haunt the Soul and is also close to us as life itself.”
We have yet to reach the glorious height of success for which we are striving hard with all the resources at our command. “ Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached, but it is to be measured by the obstacles which he has to overcome while trying to succeed.”
We ardently hope that we shall take our institution to further glorious heights with the undiluted co- operation and assistance from all our well-wishers and Staff.
